The City of Hendersonville is conducting a Special Census and we need your help! Here are a few facts:

  • This is a City of Hendersonville Special Census, not a Federal Census

  • The State of Tennessee provides revenue to cities based on their population. Due to Hendersonville’s growth over the last six years, the City should be getting more revenue from the State. The State is currently using the outdated 2010 Federal Census population of 51,372.For each person we can count over the 2010 Federal Census amount the City will receive additional revenue (about $123 each person) that could be as much as $987,000 each year for our community if everyone is counted through this Special Census effort.

  • The Special Census will help the City get its fair share of taxes our citizens already pay to the State.

  • Whether you own a home or rent, every City of Hendersonville resident counts.

  • Every Hendersonville Household was mailed a 2017 Special Census Packet.Below is an example of what the front and back of the Special Census Packet looks like:

All we need is the address (including apartment #, if applicable) and the first and last name of everyone residing in the household.Below is what the Special Census Form looks like that you will detach at perforations, fold, insert in the envelope, seal, and mail (no postage necessary):

  • Completing the Special Census Form that was mailed to every Hendersonville Household and mailing it back to City Hall quickly will eliminate the need for households to be personally visited by a special census representative to obtain this much needed information.

  • Be sure to Mail back the postage paid Special Census mailer TODAY!

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support of our community.  If you would like additional information, email us at specialcensus@hvilletn.org or call Keith Free, Senior Planner at (615) 264-5316.

Remember, every Hendersonville resident counts!

Sincerely,
