[ARCHIVED] Summer Scavenger Hunt

School’s out for the summer! 🎉 Our city is filled with fun, free or low cost things for families to do. If you’re looking for inspiration for your summer itinerary, we’ve got just the thing. The City of Hendersonville is hosting a Summer Scavenger Hunt! 🕵️‍♂️🌞

Click here to print your scavenger hunt list. Read the helpful hints list below for more information on the scavenger hunt stops. Once you’ve finished exploring the city, bring your list to City Hall (101 Maple Drive North, 8:00 - 4:30, Monday - Friday) to earn a certificate for a sweet treat from a local business, while supplies last! 🍦

Share the fun! Don't forget to tag the city in photos you share from your adventures! 

Special thanks to our local business partners, Baskin Robbins, Bruster’s, Culver’s, and Sonic for donating the scavenger hunt prizes! 

Helpful hints:

1. Learn more about the library's summer reading program. 

Visit the library at 140 Saundersville Road. 

Hours: 

  • Mondays and Thursdays: 10 AM - 8 PM
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 10 AM - 6 PM
  • Saturdays: 10 AM - 2 PM

2. Walk the Hendersonville Greenway. 

The greenway can be accessed throughout Hendersonville, including bike trails in Memorial Park, Drakes Creek Park, and Saundersville Park.  You can also view the Greenway and Trails Map

3. Visit Mary's Magical Place. 

Visit the 15,000 square foot all-inclusive playground at Veterans Park, 144 Scotch Street. 

Dedicated hours for those with special abilities and their families: 

  • Wednesdays from 8 AM - 10 AM
  • Sundays from 6 PM - 8 PM

4. Attend a music event in the city. 

5. Find a Mounted Patrol Officer and get a trading card. 

Hendersonville Mounted Police Officers can be spotted in our local parks and love saying hello to our residents.

6. Enjoy a sweet treat at a local business. 

Helpful Hint: Hendersonville ice cream spots include Baskin Robbins, Bruster’s, Culver’s, Dairy Queen, Sonic, and more!

7. Find the Tennessee Music Pathway Signs. 

Hendersonville has a rich musical heritage that has been recognized by the State of Tennessee's Department of Tourism. Learn more about these historical markers:

8. Picnic at the park. 

The City by the Lake has a variety of parks! We challenge you to picnic in a park you haven't visited recently.

9. Enjoy a lake activity. 

Enjoy the lake our city is known for! Explore fishing (make sure you have a license! Free fishing day is June 7.), kayaking, feeding the ducks at Memorial Park (remember to bring quarters for the food dispenser!), or simply enjoy viewing the lake from one of our parks.

10. Turn in your finished list at City Hall (101 Maple Drive North) to receive a certificate for a sweet treat while supplies last. 

City Hall is open from 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Note: one certificate can be issued per person.
