As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the City of Hendersonville's population was counted at 61,753 persons. As of July 2022, it is estimated that the population increased to approximately 62,896, which is a 1.8% increase. The population is projected to continue to increase to nearly 70,000 people by 2030. The City has seen consistent growth over the past three decades, which is a great indicator of Hendersonville's proven stability, sustainability, and desirability as a place to live, work, and play. Hendersonville incorporated in 1969 and currently ranks as the fourth most populous city in the greater Nashville area and is Tennessee's 10th largest city.

The City is accessed via U.S.-31E (Gallatin Road/Gallatin Pike), Vietnam Veteran's Boulevard (SR-386), and New Shackle Island Road (SR-258), and is located in the southwestern portion of Sumner County, Tennessee.
