Yard Waste Collection

The City of Hendersonville offers the collection of paper yard waste bags with leaves, grass trimmings, and small twigs. The following collection guidelines MUST be followed to have your yard waste collected:

Plastic Bag Yard Waste

Yard waste such as leaves, grass clippings and small twigs placed in plastic bags will be collected by Waste Pro with your weekly trash collection. These bags will count towards your weekly collection volume. (Please reference collection volume guidelines for curbside and backdoor.)

Paper Yard Waste Bag Collection

Paper yard waste bags will be collected by the city and should be placed curbside by 6:00 am on Mondays for collection each week.

  • Accepted: leaves, grass clippings, and small twigs
  • Not Accepted: dirt, soil, rocks, vines, mulch, root balls and tree limbs. Bags containing these items will not be collected. Limbs will not be collected in leaf bags. Limbs need to be put out on your curb to be collected by the limb trucks.
  • All bags must be 40lbs or less. Bags over the weight limit may not be picked up.

Crews collect yard waste bags from one side of the City to the other each week.  The crews try to collect citywide on Monday and Tuesday each week. However, due to weather or an increase in the volume, collection may occur later in the week. Feel free to contact us on Sundays by email or call 615-822-1016 to notify us that you have yard bags for collection. Please leave your address and the number of bags you have curbside for collection.
